The route branches off from the Superga-Crea path. We are in the town of Montiglio Monferrato, near the area of Cortanieto, then the path descends to the valley and crosses the county road, Asti – Chivasso railway and the Versa stream. From here you continue, gaining altitude and enter the town of Montiglio, where you can admire the beautiful parish church and the castle. The castle is still well preserved and open to the public at some events. The great Romanesque church of San Lorenzo, near the cemetery, is also worth visiting. The church, built of sandstone and originally with three aisles, is one of the most significant examples of Romanesque architecture in Asti, which contains beautiful sculpted capitals. After the church, the path descends to the valley. You cross the county road, the railway and the stream again and go uphill to the hamlet of Madonna del Carmine, where you will find the Sanctuary with the same name. As you continue towards Scandeluzza, at the cemetery, you can see the Romanesque church of Santi Sebastiano and Fabiano. It was recently restored, and has a magnificent fourteenth-century fresco of the apse. The church was greatly restored by Count Mella in the nineteenth century and today it is a canonical example of philological restoration. An interesting curiosity that should be emphasized is the graffiti that can be found on the outside walls, which date back to the seventeenth and eighteenth century. As you pass through the village of Scandeluzza, from the churchyard of the parish church, supported by the walls of an ancient fortified area, you can enjoy a most valuable overview of the castles and the surrounding hills, among which Rinco castle tower stands. The journey continues towards the village of Rinco, which is still well preserved in its medieval town and dominated by a mighty castle, and ends at the intersection with “The Path of Landscapes” .
